Title:   SuperVision - the quest for optical perfection in the human eye

Abstract:  The first successful, objective method for measuring the myriad optical defects present in eyes was published in 1994. In the ensuing decade, intense pressure from the public and from refractive surgeons for achieving optical perfection through laser surgery has lead to much basic and applied research into the measurement and correction of optical aberrations of eyes.  In this seminar I will attempt to answer the question: Is supervision a realistic and/or desirable goal for human vision?
