Title:   Ultrafast Quantum Control: Teaching Atoms, Learning from Molecules

Abstract:   New developments in AMO physics have come about because of unprecedented control over intense laser fields. Learning algorithms are key elements of this new technology. These unconventional feedback loops control the temporal and spatial coherence of pulsed lasers. Learning loops can discover unusual optical pulse shapes that produce special quantum coherence conditions in atoms and molecules, to control the chemical, electronic, or physical dynamics of matter.
