    • This homework will count as a "check" in your homework grade, so do it, but dont worry too much about details of answers. We have found some problems that we'll avoid in future homeworks (one problem has bug, symbolic entry is not perfect).
  • HW01 - Measurement and 1D Motion (due 9/5, 6pm), solutions .
  • HW02 - Vectors and Motion in 2,3D (due 9/12, 6pm), solutions .
  • HW03 - Motion in 2,3d and Forces (due 9/19, 6pm) solutions .
  • HW04 - Force and Motion (due 9/26 6pm) solutions .
  • HW05 - KE and Work (due 10/3 6pm) solutions .
  • HW06 - Potential Energy and Cons. of Energy (due 10/10 6pm) solutions .
  • HW07 - Linear Momentum (due 10/17 6pm). solutions .
  • Note: starting with HW08, www HWs are due on fridays , 6pm.
  • HW08 - Rotation (due 10/26 6pm). solutions .
  • HW09 - Rotation II (due 11/02 6pm). solutions .
  • HW10 - Equilibrium and Elasticity (due 11/09 6pm). solutions .
  • HW11 - Fluids (due 11/16 6pm). solutions .
  • HW12 - Oscillations and Waves (due 11/30 6pm). solutions .
  • HW13 - Waves and Gravitation (due 12/7 6pm). solutions . Note, there is typo in solution to 17.25. Correct answer is 1.5E-2W = 0.015W. The 0.15 W is incorrect.

  • Due dates are listed with assignment. As a rule, Wednesdays, 6pm. Note: starting with www HW08, due dates will be fridays, 6pm.
  • Note the rules for question assistance! That is explained in the instructions for each assignment. As of HW03 , here are the rules we will use:
    1. 3 attempts are allowed with full point potential.
    2. If hint is available and you use, you loose 25% of point potential.
    3. You can use all other aids that may be available without penalties.
Some problems have solutions, you can view them without penalty. Some problems have online tutorials, you can/should use. As mentioned above, only the hints reduce your point potential, if you use them.
  • Answers that require angles can be ambiguous. Read the problem carefully!
  • Solutions and tutorials are given for some problems. Use them!
  • Scientific notation!: Look in WileyPlus help how to do it. You will need it. eg: 6.55x10^-5 is entered as 6.55E-5.
  • Significant Digits: You need to enter the correct number of sig. digits. However, we will use option that tells you how many to enter and doesn't let you submit with incorrect number of sig digits. Also, the rules that WP uses may be a digit off from what you think. You have to use WP rules (which they tell you in problem.
  • You do not have to do the assignment completely in one sitting. You can stop and continue later (as long as you finish before due date/time).
