#10013: Wireless transformer, Type R, 0.5 kW

These high-voltage transformers were commonly used in amateur spark stations. The primary is keyed via the AC line and the
secondary to the closed circuit with a charging condenser and a rotary spark gap. For a 0.5 kW transformer, the secondary voltage is
typically 12 kV. The sliding section moves a portion of the core in and out for adjusting the curren capability and resulting power output.
The Type R sold for $21 in 1917.
