#10011: Fortin Barometer
J.A. Green, New York

In a Fortin barometer the level of the mercury in the glass at the bottom is adjusted to a fiducial mark, and the column height is measured against this mark. The barometer features a thermometer, is mounted in a wooden case, and comes with framed instructions. Engraved serial number #1626.

General Electric, around 1920

Glass ball is 17.8 cm in diameter. Etched marking: Coolidge tube #32655.This "Universal" Coolidge tube was manufactured by General Electric, probably in the early 1920s. The last patent date on the tube was January 1917.
