How is this lesson inquiry-based and student-centered?
Our lesson contains an open-ended analysis of data in which the students are able to create numerous questions which don’t necessarily have one right answer but rather lead to further research. For example, the students are asked to construct graphs of the cosmic ray telescope data on Day 2. After the graphs are constructed, students begin to ask questions regarding what information can be gleaned from the data. Through this analysis, students will have to evaluate the merit of their conclusions…i.e. “Is the data sufficient to answer my question or is their another variable which might have affected the gathered data?”
