Undergraduates Shine at Physics Department’s First Poster Session

Tuesday, September 23, 2025

Undergraduate Student Presenting Research via Poster, Sep 9, 2025 Viola Munos

The Physics Department proudly hosted its first Undergraduate Research Poster Session in 2025, marking a milestone in celebrating the creativity and dedication of its students.

Undergraduates showcased a wide range of projects, highlighting their innovation, curiosity, and scientific exploration. The session provided an exciting platform for students to share their work with faculty, peers, and the broader academic community, sparking conversation and collaboration across diverse topics in physics.

Faculty and attendees praised the event as a valuable opportunity for undergraduates to engage in professional presentation, practice scientific communication, and gain recognition for their hard work.

To conclude the event, the top projects were recognized with awards:

  • 1st Prize: Edwin Ship

  • 2nd Prize: Owen Leonard

  • 3rd Prize: James Wells

The department looks forward to making this poster session an annual tradition, further encouraging undergraduate research and fostering a culture of discovery.
